It all started with a pair of twins from Vancouver and their father who needed some help...

Our Story

The Journey of Friendly Help

Friendly Help was started by Steve and Terry, to help their Canadian family members (especially their Dad!), as well as older friends. They saw the importance of keeping people connected, educated and entertained with devices like computers, tablets, smartphones, and streaming services.

The twins' family found online tech support, but the person on the phone would often speak too fast, too quiet, or use too much jargon! It would be a frustrating experience and they'd leave the call not having learned anything. Then when something broke the next time, it would happen all over again!

So, the twins hired and trained a team of ‘Tech Helpers’ to work specifically with older adults. That meant training the team to speak clearly, slowly, avoid complicated tech-y words, and to just speak louder! But, the most important part was that they were helpful in a friendly, patient way.

We hope that our specially trained team can help you or a loved one with their tech devices and tech training!
